Gem The Label is an Australian, mindfully made emerging label. Dedicated to sustainability, our pieces are handmade in our Sydney studio. Gem The Label garments are carefully sewn with precision in organic, natural fibre fabrics to create effortless and playful silhouettes.
Gem The Label pieces are born and inspired by nature. We emulate the natural world it strives to prioritise and protect.
Gem The Label lives and breathes sustainable design and making. Every part of the designing and making process is accounted for to ensure that our pieces will last the test of time and become truly loved pieces in your wardrobes.
GTL is a slow fashion brand all about keeping things sustainable. We use natural fibre fabrics when printing our our designs, deadstock where possible and also keep all our scraps for zero waste pieces. Any dyeing is done naturally and everything is made to order except when we have to keep some stock for the markets.
About Us
Gem's Story
Founded in 2021 and launching her first collection in 2022, Gem began Gem The Label after studying fashion at university.
Gem The Label was born after learning about the fashion industry and its contributions to air and water pollution, its wastage and exploitation of people.
Wanting to make a change, Gem launched her label in the hopes to create pieces in which every aspect of the making process could be traced, accounted for and ultimately sustainable.
Today, Gem The Label is proudly zero waste and continues to create made to order pieces which are sustainably made with love and care in our Sydney studio.

We put out limited edition collections every year with small quantities and limited fabric to make these pieces so we are able to keep things exclusive like a piece of art but also so we don't over produce. What we make and design is data driven, restocks only for the most popular pieces based on what YOU are loving. Being more exclusive with our pieces means we are try new things without being wasteful and creating more than GTL would ever need to sell. Creating intentionally is where it all starts.
